Liability Insurance Required for Waterparks

Ethan’s Law will require for-profit, private water parks to have a minimum one million dollars of liability insurance coverage in the event of the death of a patron. The bill was sponsored by state Represented Marilyn Ruestman. The law as named after Ethan Cory, a six year old who drowned at private water park last summer.

Violation of this law will result in fines of $250 per day. Because the bill contains an emergency clause, it went into effect immediately after being signed.
